“A son is a son…

…until he takes a wife, but a daughter is a daughter of the rest of your life.” I first heard this Irish saying, I think, from my mom, which I found very true, to a lot of people that I know, at least. There are always exceptions to the rule, as we know it.

Personally, I cannot find myself caring less for my son. From the time that he was conceived to the time that he will be taking mens vitamins and beyond, he will always be my child. But there is the dynamics to this saying which can be very true. Pointing out to a man’s burden in life to feed and work for his family and a woman’s innate nurturing instinct.
